It all started Christmas 1998. I had recently married, and
wanted to do something fun and cute as our "first holiday greeting card." The
response to my card was overwhelming and a coworker even urged me to sell them!
A friend was opening a stationery store in New York City, and agreed to let me
use her as my "test market." And so I kept busy creating new and exciting
handmade products.
The rest is history.
You know what the problem is with owning your own company?
You have to name it. My mom asked "what best describes you?" Well, I was born
and raised in Dallas, Texas, as an Aldinger (if you know me or my family... God love ya!)... and married a Yankee, so now I am an Angerame (who knew I would be Italian!). So it was then and there...
Southernyankee
was born.
Today I keep busy with all my new projects (in between school buses, naps and snack time). Creating
beautiful invitations with all sorts of things, making someone's birth announcement fit them perfectly, or finding a new way to bring life to your
grandmother's handkerchief. So with a little help from my husband, Brian (the Yankee), and our 3 kids, Michael, Katie and Patrick, I
present to you Southern yankee.
Y'all Enjoy!
